C'est la FĂȘte.

I worked 26 hours in the last two days. My legs hurt and my eyes are swollen. I'm beyond exhausted. Everything has only left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I was so happy to leave work today. I'm debating just never coming back.

This is the only reason I didn't quit today.

Call it Off.

Christmas came and went and without the worry and bustle and hecticness i was expecting. It just happened. It just happened, as it does. Getting sick on the 23rd was possibly the best thing that could of happened. I was knocked flat with a 24 hour flu type sickness. Nothing, and i repeat, nothing, could of got me out of bed. Unfortunately I did have a busy day at work but I missed and again, things happened. Sometimes I worry the world will fall apart without me, but really I'm not that important. Either way, things happened and I finally rested. So my Tuesday was spent in the comfort of my bed and Wednesday morning brough relief and the pure bliss and appreciation of normalcy. The wonder we so often take for granted, but just the fact my body wasn't in utter pain clingy onto the edge of death (I'm a little dramatic when i'm sick). Either way I got better and i can't tell you how good it felt. It did however set me back I didn't get a few of the last minute gift I planned to get. But like i said Christmas still happened.
Wednesday was morning drives and breakfast dates, family visits and supper with my brother and his wife, and of course presents. Our family has always been a Christmas eve present opening family. Well as long as I can remember.
And Christmas, well Christmas was morning church service and supper at my Aunts, and back to the city to continue... normalcy. It's a normalcy I can't appreciate quite as much but in the same way when I wasn't sick, it was relief, maybe not doing what I'm doing could be uncomfortable, or worse. I'm ok with normal, right now.
So. Only one more countdown remains on my list of countdowns. New years eve. New years sneaks up cause everyone's concentrating on Christmas. Only six more sleeps till i leave for Montreal slash Ottawa!

Oh Merry Christmas! Hope it was full of laughter, happiness and loved ones.

Tell me a Lie.

Today I enjoyed distant friends returns to Manitoba, Delicious Cuisine, Eddie Vedder and then silence.

I only finished writing my Christmas cards today. So I'll probably only get them out... Monday. three days before Christmas. That's kinda how its been lately tho. Ive been so rushed and unorganized and all over the place. No time to think or enjoy the season. Probably why it doesn't even feel like Christmas yet. Not sure what I'm missing.

Speak Slow.

Friday night involved me falling asleep at 7pm, waking up at midnight and returning back to bed cause what was the point. 14hrs of sleep left me quite rested.

Saturday: Montreal's A-trak and favorite local dj Jamal Knight rocked exchange event centre till the wee hours of the morning. Highly impressed with both. Had a super night out with my lovely sidekick Leslie Reimer!

Sunday was busy with breakfast and lunch dates. Also a friends hockey game in the evening. Been doing lots of catch ups lately.

I had a lame day today. Sometimes I feel like such a bad person. Today was rightfully so. I had a large nap today and drank three cups of coffee. I'll be up for awhile with my thoughts.

You know how sometimes you look under your bed and you find everything you've lost in the last year? That happened today. shoes, clothes, boooks. You name it. Point of the story, look under your bed.

Cracks in the Sky.

So in recent Nickolette's news... This weeks outting was a huge success. We were greeted with a huge wave from fellow Wednesday night gallavanter, Hammer. Needless to say, we joined him and Bob for a round of darts. Also our friend Kyle decided to make a second appearance. I lost a dollar in the slots and quit! OH and get this. A glass of white wine went up from $2.80 to $3.20. You know times are tough when...

I'm going to Montreal for New years!! So excited!!
I don't even know what we're going to do yet. It kinda happened randomly. I was gonna go to Fernie and asked Shelley to come with me and she said, well would you rather go to Montreal? And I said yes.

Things are also shaping up for me to hopefully move on sometime soon... I'm getting very excited about possibilities on the horizon.
